Educational Talks

We help educate children in their classroom by showing them live birds which they would normally not encounter. Our talks are also geared towards the National Curriculum. Our staff explain about the food chain and the difference between the predator and its prey. Whether it is a Peregrine falcon, a Buzzard or a Kestrel , the fact is that this is probably the best way to illustrate an educational talk about birds of prey. The feedback we get is a reward in itself. From the head teachers of senior schools to nursery , they all say that the children find it an exciting and educational lesson, which can help stimulate writing, drawing and painting skills.

Flying Demonstrations

We have flying demonstrations at our site at the Scottish Deer Centre, near Cupar in Fife every day throughout the year at the following times:

April - September   12pm,  2pm,  4 pm

October - March    1pm

Here you can see various birds being flown in our purpose built arena.  Visitors are guaranteed to get a close view of our birds and are able to learn all about the species being flown as an informative commentary is given during each demonstration. 

Available to fly at your event or venue.

There is nothing quite like a display by birds of prey for drawing in visitors.  If you would like book Raptor World to come and give a static display and/or flying demonstration at your venue or event, please contact us.  We will tailor everything to your needs.

Bird of Prey Management Courses

We aim to offer an insight into all aspects of handling, training and working with birds of prey. We provide a range of bird of prey management courses to suit many levels of interest and commitment. Two, five and ten day courses will help the novice to grasp the basics and further tuition is available if required. There is also a training clinic for handlers with problem birds or birds with problem handlers!  Gift Vouchers Available.

Pest Control

Raptor Worlds bird control units can provide an effective solution to pest problems. We help out at airports and landfill sites where a dense population of gulls or crows may be causing problems. Our falcons and hawks are natural enemies of these pest species and the sight of a bird of prey is usually enough to move them away from the area. We also provide help for farmers who suffer from crop devastation.  All those rabbits or pigeons can munch their way through thousands of pounds worth of crops every year.

Wildlife consultancy work helps us to make a worthwhile contribution to the countryside.  Our services in this field are carried out by International Raptor Research and Conservation Ltd.  This is a registered charity that works towards the conservation of raptors through research into a variety of areas.

Experience Days

If you want to get even closer we have a number of experience packages which let you take away some special memories. These are set in the heart of the Scottish countryside amongst some of the most stunning scenery which reflects how these birds live in the wild.

Standard Packages include;

Bird of Prey Handling Sessions - One hour of flying and handling a variety of species.  A really wonderful experience.        

£28.00  per person (carried out at our base in Fife)

 

Bird of Prey Handling Sessions - Two hours of flying and handling a variety of species.   Includes a walk with hawks through the woodland.                                                                

£39.00  per person (carried out at our base in Fife)

 

Half Day Experience - An afternoon spent on the Scottish hills (or more level ground for the faint hearted!) to see these majestic birds fly in their natural surroundings. 

£97.50 per person for individual (max 2 people with a bird each)  

£72.00 per person for a group day

 

Whole Day Experience - Set in some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland you will be given your own birds to fly for the day (under expert guidance), together with lunch at a local Inn, Hotel or even on the Hill really makes this a day to remember.     

£195.00 per person for individual (max 2 people with a bird each)   or 

£113.00 per person for a group day

Please note that both the half and the whole day experiences are carried out in the Blairgowrie area, Bird o f prey handling sessions take place at The Scottish Deer Centre near Cupar in Fife.

Really Wild Scotland Tours

'Really Wild Scotland' tours offer a wildlife watching experience in some of Scotland's most beautiful places. You can join one of our expertly guided tours to explore the lochs and glens in search of deer, otter, duck and geese, golden eagles and other birds of prey as well as ravens, wildcat and mountain hare. 'Really Wild Scotland' is based in Perthshire, the heart of Scotland. We'll pick you up from your hotel or B&B and take you into the hills for a great wildlife watching experience.

Livery

Although birds of prey are lovely to keep there comes a time when we all need to get away for a while, and frankly its not the same as asking someone to feed your cat! We therefore offer housing, food and expert care for anyone needing help.  Please contact us to discuss requirements and charges.

Film and Promotion Work

We provide birds for a variety of film work and promotional material. As well as nature work and documentary footage we also provide birds for education and information programs.  Many companies are able to use raptors to market products and we can train birds especially for the job.  Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Food and Equipment

We can supply small quantities of food for raptors on a collection only basis.  We have a monthly delivery from Honeybrook animal foods of Evesham.  Honeybrook are known for supplying top quality animal foods to zoos and animal centres around the country.  Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Bird Breeding

We breed a variety of birds and train and fly them usually for our own centre or research purposes.  Sometimes we have a surplus and will on these occasions sell these birds on or exchange them for other stock.  We will require references for any potential buyers to make sure our stock goes to suitable homes.  Please contact us for further information or view our breeders page.
