The Partners
The centre pin of the whole organisation is one of it's partners Stewart Miller. Stewart has been working with birds of prey for over 25 years and has worked as far a field as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Germany. He brings to the company the knowledge, dedication and expertise to make it something really special. He has worked with some of the largest collections of birds in the world and some of the rarest species.
Glasgow born Stewart was educated in Largs, Scotland where his love of birds of prey first started. He has adamantly followed this career path taking every opportunity to learn new and innovative ways of working with birds. He treats each of the birds in his care as an individual and sees them each as being 'as different as chalk and cheese'. His understanding of raptor psychology leaves no stone unturned and this perhaps explains how he is able to gain so much from each of these birds.
To watch him at his work is a pleasure to behold and to have the opportunity to work with him is an experience not to be missed.
From 2001 Raptor World will be offering seasonal placements for trainees from all over, this will allow other organisations to benefit from our experience and knowledge.

Kirsten Miller
Partner
The general dogs body of the organisation is it's second partner Kirsten Miller. Kirsten has worked with birds of prey since meeting Stewart and deciding that it was a case of "if you can't beat 'em....join 'em!" This choice became apparent on their second date where she ended up leaving the restaurant with Stewart half way through the evening to go and help mince rats to feed to young hawks and falcons! What a way to get the gals Stewart.
Kirsten was born in Warwickshire and educated in Clevedon and Cardiff. Although initially qualified as a level 1 nurse, her main background is in business and finance since the greater part of her working life has been in this area. Now part qualified as an accountant Kirsten's role is mainly to hold the purse strings and stop Stewart spending too much!
Raptor World bird handlers
Gary Brown
Gary joined the team as a trainee falconer over 2 years ago. Although Gary had had no experience of working with birds when he joined us, we were impressed with his knowledge which, could only be generated by an enthusiam for raptors. With experience in training and presentations and his obvious organisational skills, Gary has proved to be a superb asset to the workforce.
Christine Adams
Christine also joined us about 2 years ago and also worked as one of our volunteer workers. Having a degree in animal sciences and having prepared a thesis for this on birds of prey means that she is a wonderful help to us. As well as working on the more fun aspect of training and flying the birds, she has also been roped in to helping with ground clearing and aviary building!
Andy Little
What would we do without him? Andy is one of our volunteer force and has worked with us for about 5 years. Despite working full time in another job, he gives up time on weekends and holidays to work with us by helping out with the birds and also with the building of the Raptor World Centre.
Stephen
Came to us as a volunteer whilst studying at Elmwood college. He has an enthusiasm that would be hard to match and as an 18 year old, shows his dedication and love of the birds by giving up weekends and holidays to come and work with us.
Liam
Is the youngest of the team but he is enthusiastic and fun to have around. As with most of our volunteers, he shows his dedication and enthusiasm by spending time working with us and the birds when he could just be out with his pals.
Iain
Iain is 16 and has given his time to help with allsorts of work from building the new centre at Comrie to cleaning mews and helping with the birds. He is a huge asset, with an appetite to match (sorry Iain, had to put that in...where do you put it all?)
Reece
Reece is currently doing work experience with us at our centre in Fife. He is really interested in birds of prey and is proving to be an enthusiastic and very helpful member of the team.
Our thanks must go out to all our staff. But especially those who come and help for no more reward than knowing they are helping us. We are extremely grateful and would struggle without their enthusiasm and help.
